How to request a kitchen-only packing job

Draw the boundary around the work

Walk the kitchen in zones: dishes, glassware, cookware, pantry and small appliances. Mark what you will pack yourself, what needs packing help and what will stay in daily use until the final evening. Photos of open cupboards give a clearer picture than a kitchen size label.

Discuss packaging materials and any boxes already on hand. Separate damaged, leaking or unwanted contents while there is time to choose an appropriate destination; do not leave those decisions inside the packing scope.

Keep a small daily-use kit

Reserve a bag or box for the items you need overnight and on arrival. Keep medication and personal documents with you, and plan separately for refrigerated or perishable food. Tell the team about unusually delicate or valuable pieces so their handling can be discussed.

Use a visible do-not-pack label for the final-use cupboard. Make the remaining work explicit when the cupboard becomes ready rather than assuming someone will know what to leave out.

Connect the pack with the arrival plan

Label cartons by destination room and useful contents. If you want unpacking help, agree on the intended result: dishes onto chosen shelves, a usable worktop or simply opened cartons. Decide where empty packing materials should be gathered.

Include the packing date, moving date and access at both addresses in the request. Changes in the amount being packed can affect the plan, so send an updated room list before booking.
